    Lure colors really are designed to catch fishermen. They way chartreuse looked blew me away considering how popular it is. Then I thought maybe it was it's UV properties...But isnt white also UV reflective.... The mind wobbles...

    Couldn't agree more w the.swim worm. Just discovered them by accident about 2 months ago and it's quickly becoming one of my favorite worm techniques. Also, love the finger tapping and line slapping ideas, def gonna have to try those. I hate tryin to wiggle the rod tip while reeling and I always feel like it can be almost too much action, esp after seeing your video about how aggressively plastics actually react underwater.

      That is a great question. That is when I will try to get super finesse and very subtle. Very slow movements and lures without any rattles, etc. Something like a Slider head with a little 4in worm is a great place to start.

  • @arthurdirindinjr1792
    @arthurdirindinjr1792 День назад

    Excellent point I think we fisherman forget how much mathematics affect fishing in most of us like 80-90% are now using fishing rods OVER 6'6" in length and most are using rods 7'-7'3" in length and any movement of those rods at their grip is going to significantly increase the movement at the tip which in turn will result in an equally significant movement of our baits. Great very helpful information and something so very very elementary it can easily escape our attention but very important it does not

    • @SteveRogersOutdoors
      @SteveRogersOutdoors 21 час назад

      It is incredible what the smallest movement in our wrist translates to in a 7 foot plus rod. It’s easy to get in a habit and keep presenting the lure the same way.

    @arthurdirindinjr1792 День назад

    My single biggest problem is trying to not just narrow my color selection of soft plastics down to only 4 or 5 base colors but only 2 or 3 within the base color for example in my lakes Watermelon colors are very very effective but just plane Watermelon is not as effective as Watermelon red sparkle flake and if very bright out Watermelon red sparkle flake with a pearl belly is best but on mostly cloudy days Watermelon candy works better than any other Watermelon color variants and if its a post frontal I almost always end up going through a prety diverse color spectrum before I establish a color the bass want usually I start with Watermelon red flake then try blk sparkle blue sparkle flake then junebug then Okeechobee craw then Tilapia if post frontal conditions I rarely get lucky and the bass like one of the first 3 colors I try. I have heard MANY fisherman 10x more accomplished than I say you only need three basic soft plastic colors of Watermelon greenpumpkin and black/blue and I wish that were the case in my lakes but it just isn't Im sure its due to my lakes see immense fishing pressure but thankfully based on my observations 8/10 guys I see fishing aren't even minimally successful once the weeds take over the lakes by May 7th But oddly I have only needed three different colors of Flukes and one color variant to enjoy utterly amazing success White Ice Ghost shad Watermelon red flake or Watermelon red flake pearl Rigged weedles have enjoyed many many times where I caught 8-20 bass in under 5 hours. Now that Im using a brand of Speedworms that float very well are going to try to see if those in three different colors can be as successful as all other worms I use Hoping a floating speedworm that only the head stays on the bottom and the rest of the worm sticks essentially straight up can fill all the rolls of my other non floating soft plastics worked slowly on or just above the bottom

    I was throwing a beat-up chartreuse salt infused salamander weightless, so I tore off the head and removed its half eaten legs. Then I had a bluegill tear off most of its tail, almost like a thumper tail. The thing was amazing. Depending on how you twitched the tip it would walk like a spook only about a ft deep though, it would dart like a fluke. It would go in a circle like a bent up fluke but it had so many different movements that looked better to me than any of my store bought baits. Has anyone else had something like that happen while fishing?

    I truly believe a wacky worm is a injured or dying bait to a bass It’s an easy to catch bait , that a bass doesn’t have to burn much energy to catch . It’s a lure that dominates since its creation, and bass never seem to get tired of eating . It’s a very slow technique that requires more patience than most can handle , but can payoff Huge , to the bank angler or the highest level tournament angler a Like .

I love rigging them on weightless or lightly weighted weedless hook and drag them through and over lillypads for pike on a hot day and for walleye any jig up to 1/2oz works great depending on depth you are trying to get to and how fast you're trying to get there.

    Been a fan of the Strike King 3x/Elaztec forever. Unbeatable action vs plastisol especially on the Z or ZToo, the white (pearl?) is an absolute slyaer on clear water smallies on rock wall drop offs here. I am going to have to give the tube some water time this season. I am def one of the overlookers you mention. TY yet again.

    • @ericsh8576
      @ericsh8576 3 дня назад

      I like the Elaztec but there are two issues with it. It is very light and is not amenable to being fished weightless if you want to cast it any decent distance. Elaztec is a pain to use with a jig head hook like the Ozark rig from core tackle. I caught my first texas rig fish with the Ozark and the line went through the elaztech and I could not get the rig back in the bait. In hindsight, I guess I should have cut my line, retied and then rigged the Ozark back in the bait but that is a pain.

    • @turtlepoi
      @turtlepoi 3 дня назад

      @@ericsh8576 I can see why getting it streaked back could be a thing. I throw the Zee on belly weighted 2/0 to 4/0 Gomatzu wide gaps. Rigging them is a similar issue, that is scratching the bait over the width of the weight on the hook. But the shimmy of the tail on a drop is worth it when a single rigging fishes all day. And I've never had one climb the line like you are saying... I don't fish them weightless to comment on that but I do know salted ones have more mass and even sink if it matter to ya. Tight lines bud.

    I’d like to see how far away someone talking normally can be heard from about a 3’ depth. I’d also like to see if a huge school of shad actually makes an audible sound like the Hydrowave Shad school sounds like. I’m wondering if those sounds on the Hydrowave are actually real recordings or a man made scam.

      Those are all great questions! I hope to keep answering them throughout the summer

    Can you please (!) do a video on the swimming worm? I can’t seem to catch anything on them… while I get bit on almost everything else.
